MIC PRESIDENT RE-ELECTED

MIC President Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu was re-elected as party chief for another term -- 2009/2012. He was returned unopposed yesterday after presidential nomination closed at noon. His intended contender Datuk M. Muthupalaniappan could not contest as his nominations were in violation of the party constitution and the presidential election by-laws, according to presidential election steering committee head Datuk K. Vijayanathan. This would be the incumbent president's 11th consecutive term. He has vowed that this would his last term as president.
I know everyone knows about these facts and I know some nasty comments are just waiting to be fired. Please ensure your comments do not carry any disrespectful overtures. I welcome suggestions and constructive criticisms if any. Thank you.

the mic members elected him again to the No 1 post in party. it is the rights of the party members but if the interest of the community to be considered. The other top MIC leaders should ask him to make his stand firm - when he palns to leave the party .he has overstayed his welcome ...

Dear bro,

Expected news. Nothing was surprising but he is SUPPRESSING all the other INDIAN leaders. All the existing talented Indian leaders were SUPRESS by his stupidity.

This was how present Indian leaders were losing the support from the Tamils in Malaysia. And be no suprise, by the time when he is out, everything will be too late for MIC.

Leading MIC for 11 term is not something to be proud off but it was a humiliation to Tamils and MIC members.

Nothing to say. I think this will be my last comment on your blog. I will be back again when MIC leads by someone other than him. Until than what ever was said and will be will only a waste of time.

Thanks again for your kindness and approval to publish all my comments.

I agree with Ivbala. A good leader knows when to step down. How are you going to groom and bring up young blood? Anyone who does not agree with him is sacked. If that is the case, by bother joining MIC? It can be one-man party. A good leader is be able to accept other/new viewpoints. Sorry to say, your president ends up looking like an old man who can't bear to give up his position - which is actually worthless now that he has no voice in BN (but he is deluded that he still has).
