It's a shame MIC did not receive 2 Full Ministers post like it used to once upon a time.Well, having 1 full Indian Minister won't cut it in today's Malaysia.

Dear Saravan,

We wish to congratulate you for your appointment as a deputy minister. We are looking forward to all the wonderful work that you have been doing. We are actually the family of 11A, Jalan Mambu, bangsar which you personally visited on the massive non-conformity construction beside our house. Many months have passed by and unfortunately very little or almost nothing has been done to resolve the issue, the contractor is arrogant to keep on constructing as he pleases without abiding the 10 feet set back rule.We wish to hear from you again for your intervention to permanently solve this unecessary issue.Unfortunately DBKL has been of almost no help and tend to ignore the problem altogether. We have filed complaints numerous times with them and done whatever we could but it only left us with no action and more frustration. It will be an honour to hear from you again and we wish you all the best in serving the prople with your appointment as a deputy minister.

Greetings Dato,

i am one of those 'loyalist' hoping that BN will succeed and that MIC will earn its rightful place in the government. indeed i used to be pleased to see DSSV sitting next to the Dep PM in photo shoots and during Govt meetings. Now i am sad to note that we have been demoted to the standing rows. the PM is flanked by one chinese and the Dep PM is flanked by another. one might say that this is seniority in Party, then why was Nazri sitted and allowed to take an oath earlier then our minister. if it is seniority in Cabinet then why was Koh sitted next to Dep PM and allowed to take oath amongst senior ministers. this clearly shows that we have fallen in the pecking order and all this is due to the fact that DSSV has lost favour with the current PM. we need to move on and the new leader needs to gain the respect of the other others.

Good Day Sir

The Indian representation (read MIC) have dwindled since the days of Tun Sambanthan.
MIC should reflect back on this matter. The Indians are the third majority in this country and its abysmal to have one full fledged minister in the cabinet followed by hordes of deputies.
Now please look at our neighbour down south who shares the same composition of races regardless of which race is the majority.
Coincindentally the Indians are also the third majority in the Island republic.

But... look at the cabinet, for your ease of reference here are the following ministers,

1. Senior Minister and Minister for National Security (ex-DPM) - Prof S. Jayakumar

2. Minister for Finance - Tharman Shanmugaratnam

3. Minister for Community Development,Youths and Sports - Dr Vivian Balakrishnan

4. Minister for Law and second minister for Home Affairs - K Shanmugam

I guess our ruling government's policy do have a long way to go to come to terms and feel comfortable with merit base society, however this is not an excuse to appoint capable ministers in its rank and file.

Whats your take on this matter?

Thanking you for the space and time.

Kind Regards

Asha Iyengar

DURING A DINNER WITH SOME HIGH PROFILED VIPS IN 1990s, I STILL REMEMBER SAMY VELU MENTIONING TO SOME ONE NOT TO HAVE TWO INDIAN MINISTER AS IT WILL CREATE MORE HAVOC TO INDIANS. HE REPEATEDLY WARNED THEM NOT TO HAVE TWO EVEN THOUGH GOVT WAS MORE THAN WILLING TO AT THAT TIME. NOW YOU TELL ME WHO'S FAULT IS THIS? MIC AND SAMY VELU

Dear YB,

i am writing regarding the issue of MIC reps in the new cabinet. There were only one minister and 2 deputy ministers elected and MIC decided to voice out their concern and said that it will discuss to pull out of the cabinet.

Today's news by the MIC president mentions that it is all now settled after discussion with the prime minister. What is the discussion, what/why have you agreed, the people want to know!

I hope you respond to my query.
