MIC Politics 3

MIC president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu has declared that he would contest the party top post for a record 11th term at the party's presidential election in March next year.
"I will not stop anyone from contesting the president's post. We are a democratic party. I am elected by popular vote in the past elections as such it is the members who will decide.
"I will continue serving till the members say they don't want me. My term ends on March 8," Samy Vellu said, today.
Samy Vellu, 72, has declared that he would quit active politics in 2012 and this bid would be his last as the party president, a post which he has held since 1981, after serving two years before that as acting president.
The MIC supremo lost the Sungai Siput parliamentary constituency at the March general election, and speculation was rife that that the veteran politician would contest the post for the last time next year before handing over the party to the chosen successor.

The very fact that you lost your seat in Sungei Siput was a testatament that people don't want you. Why linger and just accept the fact that you have overstayed your welcome. Even the UMNO dogs are against you and they probably concocted your defeat there. The message was further amplified when you never got a "Tunship" from the Agong whereas the Gerakan so called advisor got it, a clear signal that your self acclaimed contribution to the society was not recognised. Sam, you better leave quietly before they start investigating you for all the embezzelements you did (Maika, telekom shares etc) and you notice, they are more worms coming out of the corpse. Leave and let the younger members take over. You never represented my interestas an Indian (my parents did their part to raise) and you claim that people want you cos you have helped them. Better see the signs ahead and leave before you get shamed by your misdeeds. Terrete payan!

YB Saravanan,
If you choose to delete this post, its your prerogative but I will never visit and post my comments if that was done. This is an open forum and you gave me this chance to view my opinion. Thank you.

Dear Datuk,

(1) Many congratulations on not deleting the public prosecutor's post.

(2) It would be a nice surprise if even one person could argue - with reasons - why I should support DSSV's campaign to stand for another term as MIC president.

(3) Perhaps you could take a whack yourself, Datuk? :-)

I agree with thepublicprosecuter that the current MIC president must step down and let someone else take over the reins of the party. He has lost his support from members of the Indian community and from the looks of it even his party members are turning against him. He has had a long political career and should leave before he loses even the little dignity he has. I hope you will take it upopn yourself Dato Saravanan to advise your mentor to let go and enjpy his twilight years in peace.

Tepuk dada tanya selera. Janganlah kita jadi masyarakat india yg cepat lupa kpd jasa2 org kerana nilai terimakasih perlu ada pada jiwa kita. Hari ini beberapa penyokong kuat Samy Vellu berpaling tadah kpd beliau. Inikah keikhlasan anda kpd Datuk Samy Vellu. Susah sama susah. Senang sama senang. Ingatlah pepatah bersatu kita teguh bercerai kita roboh. Salam

I disagree with comments by publicprosecutor. The Tun is confered on politicians that have 'retired' example Lim Keng Yaik, Ling Liong Sik etc. Dato Seri is still the President of MIC , thus he is not considered for the time being.

My opinion is that I prefer Dato Seri to continue , especially now with the understanding how the UMNOPutras have treated Dato Seri and the Indian community. Our temples were torn down not by Dato Seri but the little Napoleans from UMNO similarly our children are deprived jobs and state sponsored education. I prefer Dato Seri against the outsider Subramanian. Even when Subramaniam was within the fold what did he do for the community. One more term for Dato Seri

Brother Saravanan
Lately there is a lot of talk on rebranding MIC. Well i for one dont understand what Bro Samy meant by it. If it is just giving a new logo, new flag etc with alot of new material changes with the same style of leadership, we'll be where we were that is back in 20th century not in 21st century; going no where. Please do excuse me if my understanding is wrong. We are dealing with humanbeings, meaning if ever you all think of any rebranding, please be humane about it.
Firstly there must be change in leadership approach. Please do understand I am not saying we must replace Bro Samy but Bro Samy must change; change his style of leadership; from one of authoritarian to one of more democratic; from one of you listen to me to one i am willing to listen. Because ultimately politics in the democratic system means people voting you in; not forgetting they can vote you out.
Secondly, MIC as a political party has to be revamped and reorganised. It is of no use Bro Samy claiming that MIC with 3600 branches with membership of some 600,000 is the largest single political organisation which represents Malaysian Indians. It is utter disgusting to note that MIC leaders at federal , state and divisional levels forming branches with the same members. One of my friends even joked saying that he is a member of about 10 MIC branches because he told me that he has given photocopies his IC to10 of his friends so far for formation of MIC branches. He happily pleased all his 10 friends. There are parlimentary divisions which have about 1,500 Malaysian Indian voters but has roughly 25 or more MIC branches with 4,000 over members. The MP who is a federal minister even makes joke out of it saying how come there are only 25 MCA branches with less than 10 Gerakan branches for about almost 6,000 Malaysian Chinese voters in the constituency. I have even come across one or two families each having 2 MIC branches. Why all these happen? Because when a divisional leader, who is an ardent supporter of Bro Samy feels he is threatened at the division, he requests for a few more branches to Bro Samy. Bro Samy sanctions the branches because the divisional leader is his supporter. So ultimately MIC has an inflated number of branches and members. A moderate figure for MIC is about 2,000 branches with 400,000 members. MIC needs to be reorganised.
Thirdly stop MIC branches holding AGM without members; sometimes 5 or 6 branches having their AGMs together at the same time and at the same place. For all you know they share the same membership. All this must be stopped. What i mean is there are branch leaders without following.
Bro Saravanan, i have a lot to share. When i was young and was involved in MIC at branch level, it was different. There were not many branches but AGM even at branch level was so lively and energetic.
I am an old man now but definitely younger than Bro Samy many years. From time to time i'll write to you. I have seen and heard you speaking. You speak with full of energy, enthusiasm and commitment typical of Bro Samy during his younger days. May God Bless You.

Nobody is perfect......

Its not a quest to seek the "perfect one" but to choose the BEST.

So let "MIC members" think and decide on Dato seri.

Its lame, If anybody think the 50 branch nomination quota for MIC president is "trick" to hold anybody back from contesting. If u cant gain support from 50 branches, then how do you expect to lead 3600 branches.

Its easy to talk "big". But who will walk the talk? Mr. Alex thiagarajan?? i doubt it.....

ThePublicProsecutor said...

YB,

Why dont you go for the post of President. Im sure a younger person like you will have dynamic ideas and inputs. You are doing a good job as Deputy FT Minister and keep up the good work.

Meenachi Indian said...

Punithan Shan, you do not know what you are talking about. Have you met the MIC branch leaders? If you have then you'll know that most of them are not capable of thinking for themselves and can be bought easily. Alex Thiagarasan can certainly make it if he manages to buy them over. However, like the Publicprosecuter, I too believe that Dato Saravanan should take Dato Seri S. Samy Vellu on for the party presidency next year.
If not the presidency, you should at least try for the deputy's president's post YB Saravanan.

my one and only experience with a mic branch was when i accompanied my father to its AGM. why? to make up the numbers.

i had the misfortune to look at its annual report. full of attending govt/party/state gathering, jamuan makan, official ceremonies, etc. nothing constructive nor useful was in the report.

i think mic must get external people to audit all the branches and verify memberships. we don't want more humiliation like that which happened to sothinathan, do we? "no one left MIC in my area. i have all the records"- he said, but in the end lost the seat. now all quiet. oops, i'm digressing here, but i think the point is clear

DEAR DATO SARAVANAN,

PLEASE RESIGN FROM THE JOB IF YOU CAN'T DO ANYTHING TO THE RACIST TEACHER. DURING INDEPENDENCE THERE WAS A MIC LEADER WHO WENT UP TO BURN INDONESIAN FLAG FROM TOP. I WONDER WHAT IT THIS LEADER IS DOING@SAMY VELU....THIS SHOWS THAT WHATEVER ACTION THAT NEED TO BE TAKEN BY MIC WILL BE DONE FOR THEIR POLITICAL MILEAGE ONLY. I CHALLENGE ALL MIC MEMBERS...YOU ALL ARE TO BE WIPED OUT

Dato Saravanan,

It is a great shame to understand that there is a land scam in BANDAR UTAMA involving MIC. MIC cheated the indian people by taking over a land which supposed to be for Tamil School. HOW UNETHICAL CAN MIC GUYS BE? HOW LOW CAN MIC BE? HOW DARE MIC DO THIS? MIC WILL GO DOWN THE HISTORY FOR HAVING THE WORST AND LACK OF MORALITY AND DISHONESTY. SHAME ON ALL OF YOU AND PLEASE DO NOT PREACH THE INDIANS ANYMORE. YOUR DAYS HAVE BEEN NUMBERED...WE WILL MAKE SURE ALL OF YOU ARE IDENTIFIED AND BLACKLISTED FOR BEING A TRAITOR. PLEASE WAIT FOR THE BOOK TO BE PUBLISHED BY AN INTERNATIONAL PUBLISHER ON MIC'S CORRUPTION DEEDS. SARAVANAN.....HOW MUCH YOU GOT FROM THE LAND SCAM....DO YOU HAVE KIDS GOING TO SCHOOL....DO YOU THINK YOUR KIDS WILL BE ABLE GET GOOD EDUCATION WITH YOUR CORRUPTIONS? SHAME ON YOU AND SAMSU VELU...

Detailed script on the deragatory remarks:

They revealed that the teacher had called Indian students 'keling pariah', 'Negro' and 'black monkeys', among other derogatory names.

In their reports, the Form Four and Form Five students said the teacher also told students during class that 'Indians came from dogs', Indians are 'children of prostitutes' and the community is 'stupid'.

She also supposedly stated that the community's youths 'do not have testicles', 'always menstruate' and indulge in 'thuggery and theft'.

NOW SARAVAN, I CHALLENGE YOU TO TAKE ACTION OR WE WILL REGARD, ALL MIC MEMBER'S GRANDMOTHER, MOTHER, SISTER, WIFE, DAUGHTER, STEP DAUGHTER, COUSINS AND NIECE TO BE PROSTITUTE. THAT IS WHAT THE TEACHER SAID. PROVE IT WRONG.

MY LAST CALL FOR YOU. WE WILL ACT IN A MANNER WHICH WILL DESTROY MIC IF ACTION NOT TAKEN BY MIC. CALL THE HERO, SAMY VELU TO LOOK INTO THIS MATTER. ONCE HE WAS WILLING TO BURN INDONESIAN FLAG. NOW LET'S SEE IF HE CAN SAVE HIS OWN MOTHER, WIFE AND DAUGHTER.... BALL IS IN YOUR COURT

Dear Datuk Saravanan,

Please publish this comment. MIC IS LACKING GOOD LEADERS. TO TELL THE TRUTH THERE ARE NO GOOD LEADERS. EVEN THE PUTERA MIC IS FULL OF MONEY-SWINDLING PERSONALITIES. I HOPE YOU COULD CHANGE YOURSELF AND HOLD UP TO YOUR INTEGRITY. SAMY VELY IS A REAL EMBARASSMENT TO THE COMMUNITY. ONE OF MY FRIEND TOLD ME EVEN IN SCHOOLS TEACHERS ARE USING HIM AS A BAD LEADERS AND CORRUPTED LEADER. THIS IS TRUE IN FEW SCHOOLS. IF SAMY VELU IS NOT ADHERING TO PEOPLE'S REQUEST, THAN WE NEED TO OVERTHROW HIM FOR THE SAKE OF THE COMMUNITY. THE COMMUNITY WILL BE DOWNGRADED AND WILL BE EMBARASSED AS LONG AS SAMY VELU IS THERE. I HAVE ONE MORE QUESTION. IS SAMY VELU PAYING YOU A LOT OF MONEY FOR YOU TO BE WITH HIM. IS THIS WHAT THEY CALL AS GANG-LEADERS. SHAME ON ME FOR GIVING RESPECT TO MIC FOR THE PAST 30 YEARS. I WILL PREACH THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE TO BAN MIC FOREVER.

Dear Data Saravan,

Please learn from DAP, MCA or Gerakan on how to protect the community. A statement by BUkit Bendara Assemblyman caused so much of problem until Najib apologized. How about a teacher who uttered hatred by calling us prostitutes and pariahs? What have you done. MIC love to "bodek" UMNO rather than protecting their people. I suggest you MIC leaders look at yourself and justify yourself whether is it fair for you to hold a post in government? ,,,If you have some dignities left after being with Samy Velu.

DEAR DATO SARA,

THIS IS HOW SAMY VELU STEAL THE LAND:

1. first Samy Velu put it into mic
2. He will make sure MIC pay for it
3. Then quietly transfer it to his name

I challenge you to defent samy velu. do you need more evidence? I can identify each and every properties brought in this manner. What is your say on this?

Now let's talk about MAIKA.....
